Operating companies

The Group’s operating companies comprise of eight core agricultural businesses which are located across three continents. These businesses have high quality assets and grow crops, including tea, avocado, macadamia, blueberries and arable.

India

Specialising in the cultivation and production of tea across Darjeeling, Dooars, Assam, and Cachar

Eastern Produce Kenya exclusively produces tea, and diversifies its income streams through extensive bought leaf and management of third party tea entities on behalf of owner clients.

Malawi

Eastern Produce Malawi is the largest producer of tea and macadamia in Malawi with operations split between the Thyolo Highlands and the foothills of the Mulanje Mountain.

Camellia’s operating companies invest in research and development to refine processes, adopt best practices, and respond proactively to the evolving needs of society and the environment. Each company is empowered to diversify its operations and adapt its methods to remain resilient and relevant in a rapidly changing world.

This includes implementing new technologies, embracing sustainable approaches, and exploring emerging markets that reflect shifting consumer expectations and global challenges. By taking a dynamic and locally informed approach, the operating companies aim to enhance efficiency and profitability while protecting the ecosystems and communities that are essential to long-term success.

Corporate Governance

Listed securities portfolio

The Group maintains an investment portfolio valued at £30.4 million at 31/12/24. These investments are principally in listed securities across a range of international markets. They are managed by our own team in London.

Real estate

Principally in the UK, and with a mix of commercial and residential property, the portfolio was valued at £23.3 million at 31/12/23. This portfolio provides a relatively stable source of earnings to the Group.
