Every year the Michelangelo Awards celebrates the best of South African and international wines judged by 26 hand-picked wine experts from around the world. This year five of the Linton Park Estate wines excelled, receiving 3 Silver Awards, a Grand D’Or (Double Gold) for The Bridge of Hope Chardonnay 2014 and a Gold Award for Linton Park Estate Shiraz 2014.

The Bridge of Hope Chardonnay 2014 by winemaker JG Auret won Double Gold. The wine brand ‘The Bridge of Hope’ created at Linton Park is the concept of dynamic businesswoman and entrepreneur Rosemary Mosia. In 2014 Rosemary secured a partner in Linton Park Wines which allowed her fascination with having her own wine brand a reality. The value proposition of the brand being ‘we will take you there’ is more than a bridge of moving consumers from one varietal sensation to the next in the range, but at heart is the commitment of uplifting communities with a social responsibility of targeting youth unemployment.

Linton Park Estate Shiraz 2014, also by JG Auret won Gold. He remarked

“The wine is effortlessly integrated as tannin and fruit support each other with a bright line of natural acidity. I think this is a great shiraz for sheer enjoyment for all red wine lovers.”

Berenice Barker, Sales and Marketing Director commented on the factors contributing to Linton Park’s successes.

“The valley and mountainous slopes of the majestic Groenberg Mountains, overlooking Wellington with views as far as Table Mountain, offer us several diverse microclimates in which our vineyards are sited and which we optimise to craft exceptional wines. As a team, we celebrate our Michelangelo awards and other recent successes.”

The Linton Park Michelangelo awarded wines are available from the estate.
