Rubber

Ribbed Smoked SheetsRubber growing was first introduced by Duncan Brothers in Bangladesh on the Lungla Tea Estate in 1983. This was later extended to Mazdehee, Allynugger, Chatlapore, Chandpore, Shumshernugger, Etah, Karimpore, Hingajea, Silloah, Rajkie, Chaklapunji and Pallakandi estates with the latest varieties and expertise imported from Malaysia. Both tea and rubber are compatible and, in fact, rubber grows well on land unsuitable for tea. Rubber is also environment friendly and has allowed better utilisation of available land.
