Duncan Lawrie is a traditional private bank and wealth manager with offices in London, Kent, Bristol and the Isle of Man. Founded in 1971, the name 'Duncan Lawrie' comes from two Victorian Scotsmen, Walter Duncan and Alex Lawrie.

From day-to-day banking and borrowing to more complex tax, trust and financial planning, Duncan Lawrie creates tailored plans and arrangements for its clients whether they are UK or internationally based.



We own a 36.1% stake in the non-life and life insurer BF&M. BF&M has a heritage dating back over 100 years. Based in Bermuda it sells various life, property and casualty insurance products, as well as offering pension administrative services to the Caribbean market. BF&M has operations in 15 countries across the Caribbean where it is the market leader for insurance.


We own a 38.4% stake in the financial institution United Finance Ltd. United Finance was established in 1989 with a single product providing lease financing mostly to medium sized customers. Since then, it has diversified its range of products to meet the needs of clients ranging from large corporate organisations to individuals. Listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange, United Finance operates through 19 branches across Bangladesh.


We own a 37.0% stake in the non-life insurer United Insurance Ltd. United Insurance was established in 1985 and listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange in 1990. It offers a wide range of non-life insurance products in Bangladesh, and operates through 12 branches across Bangladesh with headquarters in Dhaka.
